Don Dixon
Dixon is considered to be one of the key producers of what is called the jangle pop movement of the early 1980s. He spent thirteen years as a member of North Carolina cult heroes Arrogance. Around 1983, Dixon attracted attention by co-producing with Mitch Easter, R.E.M.'s landmark debut LP Murmur and in 1984 R.E.M.'s follow-up LP Reckoning, also with Mitch Easter (both credited in the Reckoning liner notes as "Machinists"). He then spent several years producing the work of varied artists including Chris Stamey (formerly of The dB's), The Smithereens, Fetchin Bones and Richard Barone. Considered to be a highlight of this period was Tommy Keene's Run Now EP. This success led to Dixon recording his solo debut Most of the Girls Like to Dance But Only Some of the Boys Like To, a further affirmation of his love of classic pop melodies and spiky, Nick Lowe-inspired word play. A book of his song lyrics, Songs 101: the Lyrics of Don Dixon was released in 2009 by VanZeno press.
In 2006, Dixon released his first new album in six years, The Entire Combustible World in One Small Room.
In 2008, Dixon released an album with his bandmates of 20 years, Jamie Hoover of The Spongetones, and Jim Brock. Dubbing the band The Jump Rabbits, the collection is called The Nu-Look.
Although Dixon and wife, Marti Jones, have collaborated on each other's albums for years; in 2011 they released the first true Jones/Dixon album. Entitled Living Stereo, it is a collection of duets.
Todd Burge
Employing wry humor, dexterous guitar work and drawing on a rich variety of life experiences, Todd Burge has emerged as one of West Virginia's most prolific singer/songwriters. Burge has played everything from Alternative Rock to Bluegrass, performing concerts in venues as diverse as CBGB’s, The Country Music Hall of Fame and the Kennedy Center. He is a repeat guest on Public Radio’s Mountain Stage and has been called the “dean of WV songwriters, the best we have”, by the show’s host, Larry Groce. His latest recording, Building Characters was produced by Don Dixon (R.E.M. James McMurtry) and once again features Tim O’Brien & Kenny Malone.
RJ Cowdery
After working for years in health care and writing on the side, Ohio native RJ Cowdery finally found the nerve to choose music as her career. Since joining the ranks of traveling troubadours, RJ has racked up major songwriting awards (Kerrville New Folk, Mountain Stage NewSong, Wildflower! Arts and Music, runner up at Rocky Mountain Folks Festival, and most recently the Dave Carter Memorial Songwriting Contest at Sisters Folk Festival in Sisters, Oregon) and fans from across the country with her heartfelt lyrics and tender voice.
“In This Light”, RJ’s 2011 release on Blue Rock Artists label, is a collection of 11 intimate songs produced by veteran Billy Crockett and recorded at Blue Rock Artist Ranch and Studio in Wimberley, Texas. The CD features Cindy Cashdollar on dobro/lap steel and special appearances by Pierce Pettis, and Jonathan Byrd.
In 2008, RJ released her second CD, “One More Door,” a compelling gathering of 13 songs, a title very much reflective of the exciting promise of her current career good fortune was recorded live in only two days in Parkersburg, West Virginia with percussionist Ammed Solomon and guitarist Michael Lipton. Both Solomon and Lipton are band members with National Public Radio’s Mountain Stage. The sessions for the recording, were produced by West Virginia’s renowned singer-songwriter Todd Burge. The disc also features Don Dixon, singer, songwriter, musician and producer of such pop icons as R.E.M. Smithereens, and Marti Jones.

EXPERIENCE THEIR WORK BILL KIRCHEN http://www.youtube.com/ TODD BURGE http://www.youtube.com/ Bill Kirchen www.billkirchen.com Grammy nominated guitarist, singer and songwriter Bill Kirchen is one of the fortunate few who can step onto any stage, play those trademark licks that drove his seminal Commander Cody classic Hot Rod Lincoln into the Top Ten, and elicit instant recognition for a career that has spanned over 40 years and includes guitar work with Nick Lowe, Emmylou Harris, Doug Sahm, Elvis Costello and many more. Named “A Titan of the Telecaster” by Guitar Player Magazine, he celebrates an American musical tradition where rock 'n' roll and country music draws upon its origins in blues and bluegrass, Western swing from Texas and California honky-tonk. His current CD Word To The Wise on Proper American features duets with many of these artists he's worked with, including Elvis, Nick, Maria Muldaur and Dan Hicks. Johnny Cash - "I think he's great." Nick Lowe - "A devastating culmination of the elegant and the funky, a really sensational musician with enormous depth." Pop Matters - "He is one of the singular instrumental stylists of American roots music, and to hear his sound once is to have it indelibly etched on one’s musical memory." No Depression - "You might call [Hot Rod Lincoln] the Triumph of the Telecaster. Then again, you might say that about Kirchen's whole career." 3rd Coast Music - "Most discographies have their ups and downs, but Bill Kirchen's albums just get better and better." San Francisco Chronicle - "Kirchen can count on the respect of anybody who knows his work." Puremusic.com - "one of the classic American artists." Austin-American Statesman - "Bill Kirchen rules, it's just that simple...scorching guitar runs in all directions..." Indy Week - "one of the best guitarists in the land" Vintage Guitar Magazine - "an American treasure" Todd Burge www.toddburge.com "Defying gravity and age, Todd just gets better. This collection includes songs that no one else could have conceived, much less written. Todd belongs in the company of Peter Stampfel, Todd Snider and Paul Thorn with Roger Miller winking from beyond. Dixon, O'Brien and Malone put up the perfect front to make it all seem so normal. Look upon his works, ye Mighty, and despair!" Larry Groce – Host of NPR’s Mountain Stage Todd Burge's songs are mostly stories that inhabit his invented characters. The scat singing and lyrical humor lighten the mood of some heavy subjects, letting his insights sneak up on you. Producer Don Dixon said, "With wit and pathos in equal measure, Todd Burge takes on subjects in his songs that never occur to most folks. Subjects too quirky, too controversial, too obtuse for most writers to get a handle on”. Over the last three decades, Burge, has played everything from Alternative/Punk Rock to Bluegrass, performing over 100 shows per year in venues as diverse as CBGB’s with his band 63 Eyes, to the The Country Music Hall of Fame and the Kennedy Center. He is a repeat guest on NPR's Mountain Stage and has been called the “dean of WV songwriters”, by the show’s host, Larry Groce. Burge has performed and toured with Tim O’Brien, Kathy Mattea, Lucinda Williams, Bela Fleck, Mike Seeger, Larry Groce, Ricky Skaggs and many others. In 2013 he is getting together with Bill "Hot Rod Lincoln" Kirchen for a few duo concerts. In 2012, Burge released two CDs, One for grownups entitled “Building Characters” produced by Don Dixon (R.E.M. Mary Chapin Carpenter) and featuring Tim O’Brien (Hot Rize, Mark Knopfler, Steve Martin) and one for children entitled “Character Building”. The Children’s CD will serve as an ongoing fundraiser for The Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network. His high energy shows are packed with songs and stories of bizarre characters and critters, from dogs to sharks to humans and beyond. Burge has the ability to twist his catchy tunes into something we can all relate to. Todd Burge also hosts his own radio show and podcast, Songwriter Night with Todd Burge. He resides with his wife Lisa and two young children, Sophia (7) and William (9) in Parkersburg WV. “Someday Someway” or his work in film. He played Buddy Holly in “La Bamba”.
He also wrote the title song for Walk Hard, The Dewey Cox Story.

MARSHALL CRENSHAW & THE BOTTLE ROCKETS
Wednesday JAN 16 8pm (EARLY SHOW!)
The Adelphia Music Hall - Marietta Ohio
Tickets www.theadelphia.com 1-740-374-8278
Marshall Crenshaw
Top 40 Hit Songwriter, Film Star (La Bamba) and more!
Over 25 years since breaking through to critical and commercial acclaim with his 1982 self-titled debut and its infectious, era-defining pop hit “Someday, Someway,”
Marshall Crenshaw creates an incredible new chapter in his career with his 429 Records debut Jaggedland. Crenshaw’s first studio recording in more than six years is
his most musically dynamic and lyrically intimate collection yet. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eCuvH1-JvyA&feature=youtu.beThe Bottle Rockets will play a full opening set THEN they will back up Marshall Crenshaw!!
In a country where interstates don’t take you to new places, but to the same places, where everywhere you go you’ve already been or you’ve just left,
The Bottle Rockets’ new album absolutely nails a sound and a vibe with a palpable sense of place. Lean Forward is suffused with the determination and
resilience of their distinctly midwestern roots; theirs is a celebration of pragmatism and tempered optimism, not the delusions and exhortations of glassy eyed zealots—
they aren’t going to fall for that. Oh, it’s a flat out, smoking rock record, too. Watch and Listen http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FdD6Ryntsxs&feature=youtu.be
